Description
TURNADO bits present a new generation of loose ring snaffles by having the mouthpiece turned forward by 45°.
This special rotation is distinctly marked by a slightly abrasive surface in the middle part of the mouthpiece. In contrast to conventional single jointed loose ring snaffles the rein aids reach the horse‘s mouth precisely, but in a soft way as the pressure is evenly distributed on the tongue.
TURNADO bits enable perfect communication with the horse as prompt and ideal chewing activity is provided immediately. This bit can also help prevent tongue vices.
Advantages of the TURNADO bits:
• innovative design with 45° angle• lies perfectly in the horse’s mouth
• perfect communication between rider and horse
• helps to prevent tongue vices
• large variety of products
A soft Pelham as the mouthpiece is a better fit for the horse‘s anatomy in contrast to conventional single jointed bits. The horse`s willingness to cooperate is optimised and the rein aids come into play earlier due to the short cheeks. A good choice for strong horses that can be unresponsive to the signals of double jointed bits.
Pelhams can be used with one or two reins, which enables different rein options. Direct pressure is applied to the horse’s tongue and bars if the rider only uses the snaffle rein. If horses tend to toss the head it makes sense to attach a second rein to the lower cheek piece ring to apply pressure on the horse’s poll. The horse will try to dodge this pressure by lowering the head. The curb chain should come into play at maximum angle of 45° (lower cheek to horse’s mouth) to avoid the horse lowering its head too much.
